“And he will show you a large, furnished upper room; prepare it there” (Lk 22:12)
The Church has observed the instruction of Jesus to prepare not just people's hearts and minds, but also the places, rites and text for the Eucharist celebration. Liturgy is the Church's continuous and unbroken traditions of celebrating Christ mysteries. The Catechism defines the word "liturgy" as: "public work" or a "service in the name of/on behalf of the people." In Christian tradition it means the participation of the People of God in "the work of God." Through the liturgy Christ, our redeemer and high priest, continues the work of our redemption in, with, and through his Church.
The Body of Christ, through liturgical proclamation and celebration, provide the means to live faith and witness to the world. It is by the divine sacrifice of the Eucharist that “the work of redemption is accomplished” (CCC 1068). The community of St. George parish invite you to join us for liturgy through out the week.
